Morocco

Morocco is the link country between Europe and Africa, the midpoint between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The country still has a king, Mohammed VI, ruler since 1999. Located close to Europe yet so different, Morocco is a cultural gift that you love to unwrap. The capital is Rabat which lies on the river Bou Regreg. The people are very friendly and are happy to help you on your journey through this ancient country. The largest population groups are the Berbers and the Arabs.

Fairy tale of a thousand and one nights

The cities in Morocco are most reminiscent of beautiful medieval cities. Forts, palaces and wonderful Islamic buildings take you back in time. The main cities are Rabat, the royal city of Marrakesh, the great Casablanca, the white city of Tangier, the blue city of Fez and the port cities of Essaouira and Agadir. In each city you can immerse yourself in a unique culture and breathless atmosphere. Morocco will quickly warm your heart and make you long for more!

Morocco and nature

The country consists of arid deserts that you can travel through by camel. But there is so much more to see: the Ouzoud Waterfalls for example, or the fantastic route Fes-Ifrane-Azrou-Midelt-Erg Chebbi that takes you past the beautiful Moroccan scenery.

Rif Mountains

Morocco is part of the Mahgreb countries along with Algeria and Tunisia. Yet the country has its own identity. This also has to do with the location of the country. It is sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Sahara to the south and west. In addition, there are four mountain ranges that reinforce the isolated location: the Rif Mountains, the High Atlas, the Middle Atlas and the Anti-Atlas.

The role played by King Hassan II is also special. The head of government has been in power for more than thirty years and he knows how to combine old traditions with modern ones. He is a follower of the prophet Mohammed, professes Islam, but is open to outside influences. Morocco can therefore be called a unique Islamic country and absolutely worth a visit!
