What is Jetprime and what exactly do they do?
Jetprime guarantees an unforgettable and luxurious experience upon arrival or departure in Mauritius. With their services you no longer have to wait in line, let alone deal with customs or baggage. Everything is arranged for you down to the last detail, while you are spoiled with luxurious snacks and champagne. Below is a detailed description of what to expect and my personal experience with it.
Arrival in Mauritius:
When I got off the plane I was really surprised. While everyone had to go to the left to stand in the long lines, we were personally greeted and immediately led to the right. Luxury VIP cars with orange flashing lights were waiting there, right next to the plane. So no queues for us!
The luxury taxi took us to a VIP lounge just a few hundred meters from the plane. There we were welcomed with champagne and delicious, luxurious snacks. Although I can normally travel without luxury, this VIP reception after an exhausting flight of more than 11 hours was extremely pleasant. Below you can see my beaming face as we got out of the taxi at the VIP lounge. As in the video (made by colleague @authenticchica) is said: it does indeed feel like you are a rock star for a moment!
As we enjoyed champagne, fresh fruit and a selection of cheeses in the VIP lounge, we handed over our passports to the personal assistants to obtain the necessary customs stamps. At the same time, a Jetprime employee went to the baggage claim to collect our bags. We were asked in advance to provide a brief description of our suitcase (for example the color) and to affix a luggage tag with our name and address details. It is important to take this into account in advance.
Departure from Mauritius:
By taxi you arrive at a private entrance at the airport. If you have a reservation with JetPrime, the taxi can enter the airport grounds and you will be dropped off at the JetPrime VIP lounge. There you hand over your suitcases and passport to your personal assistant. The Jetprime assistants then take care of everything at the back. They will arrange the necessary stamps in your passport, collect your boarding passes and also check in your luggage.
All this while you relax in a VIP lounge right at the airport. In this lounge you can enjoy unlimited food and drinks, including champagne and other luxury drinks.
Only when boarding the plane has been completed and the gate is already closed, will a luxurious BMW or Mercedes appear to escort you to the plane. The car parks near the plane, where you go up via an elevator. Your personal assistant will show you to an empty gate so that you can board the plane last. Even scanning your passport and plane ticket is done for you.
To be honest, it was a strange feeling to be the only one arriving at an empty gate and the very last to board. Especially because the BMW (with orange flashing lights) stopped close to the plane, so everyone on the plane could see us arriving. All eyes seemed to be on us as we were the last to board the plane.
