What makes this country especially popular are the affordable prices for activities, food, drinks and shopping. The capital Bangkok is bursting at the seams with a flood of tourists. You have to be able to handle the crowds at the floating markets and in touristy streets like Khao San Road. But then you also get an exciting experience in return. Would you rather opt for Thai rest? Then travel to the dazzling beaches in the south or catch the train to the north.
Bangkok and Chiang Mai
Bangkok cannot be summed up in one word. This city with more than 8 million inhabitants is the overwhelming heart of Thailand. Shopping centers like Siam Paragon, a vibrant nightlife, serene temples with countless Buddhas, the chaotic markets and the raging tuk-tuks, they will stay with you forever. Chiang Mai is a city of a different order but just as interesting. From Chiang Mai you can go into the jungle, take elephant rides or visit the famous night market in the city itself.
Dazzling beaches
Beaches abound, each more stunning than the next. For example, visit Phuket, Koh Chang, Koh Samui or Koh Tao. Divers can have fun here. Beautiful coral and hundreds of fish swim towards you. The nature parks are also special in Thailand. The historical park of Sukhothai for example. Or Khao Yai National Park. Of course, a visit to the Bridge On The River Kwai cannot be skipped.
