About Luxembourg

The country is a Grand Duchy, and its capital Luxembourg City is one of the richest cities in Europe, partly due to the international financial sector. In addition, the city is an important location for European institutions. Two rivers flow through the city: the Alzette and the Pétrusse.

The city was founded in 963 with the construction of a castle and defensive wall on the Bock rock. Over the years, Luxembourg developed into one of the strongest fortresses in Europe. Some remaining fortifications are located on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Today, Luxembourg City is not only a historical and financial center, but also a modern city that attracts people from all over the world. When you walk through the city, you will clearly notice the mix of languages, traditions and cultural influences.
