About Chris

Editor-in-chief and owner of this website. Full-time world traveler through and through and winner of an international press award (de Golden Pen Award). Dreams about new destinations 365 days a year.

But this website is not just about me. 'World travelers' is plural, so it is also the place where other travelers can share their stories.

Together with my wife Malou and our team of guest bloggers we explore as many unique destinations as possible. We live for special encounters with wildlife and adrenaline-packed activities, such as climbing volcanoes and swimming with sharks. We go further where others stop, sometimes take a risk and are always open to new cultures, no matter how strange they may seem to us as down-to-earth Dutch people.

Always looking for new experiences and hungry for the unknown. Wherever we are in the world, we get up early and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. You only live once, so make the most of it!

Education and experience

Before becoming a travel blogger, I worked as a team leader and manager in customer service, marketing and planning. At my last employers, Flextronics (a large chip manufacturer from Singapore) and BLOX (a crypto app), I developed strong communication skills. I was responsible for daily office processes, managing staff, and creating and managing KPI reports. In addition, I worked with corporate clients of multinationals from Singapore, China and the United States to improve processes. During this time, I learned how to write reports, network, and followed LEAN management trainings to optimize processes and reduce waste.

This experience came in handy when I decided to take my hobby as a travel blogger and photographer more professionally. After five years of blogging, I decided to say goodbye to the corporate world and pursue my passion full-time. I bought the domain Wereldreizigers.nl and focused completely on growth.

Now, with more than 10 years of experience as a travel blogger, I manage the largest network of travel bloggers in the BeNeLux called DutchTravelBloggers.comSEO, storytelling, photography, website management, and networking are an integral part of my daily work.
