1. Go snorkelling at the most beautiful coral reefs

As you may already know, the Maldives is known for its beautiful coral reefs. While you are in the Maldives, you might as well take this underwater experience and snorkel between the most beautiful colored fish, coral, turtles and a good chance that you spot a ray or baby shark!

2. Go snorkeling with wild dolphins

This was one of the coolest things I've done in all my travels, swimming with wild dolphins. In any case, this was very high on my bucket list and I never thought that I would swim 1 meter away from these beautiful animals. Are you going to the Maldives? Then definitely add this must do in the Maldives to your Maldives activity list!

3. Hold a photo shoot

You can certainly take beautiful pictures in the Maldives and it is another fun activity in the Maldives if you have nothing to do for a while. It doesn't matter how you take the picture, but you will make everyone at home jealous if you show your vacation photos. In order to make some nicer and professional photos, there are many organizations that are willing to do this for you. For example, we had booked a day trip from the island of Maafushi. We went to a sandbar, snorkeling with dolphins, spotting nurse sharks and petting stingrays (they are very curious animals). The guide had brought a Gopro and drone which resulted in very cool photos. See the result below!

4. Whale shark watching

You can spot whale sharks in the Maldives all year round. This large cartilaginous fish can grow very long (15m). In the South Ari Atoll of the Maldives you have the best chance to see these large beautiful animals. This is a unique experience that you can't really describe and you have to experience yourself. It is in a word: impressive!

5. Enjoy the setting sun

Are you a fan of watching sunset? Then you are in the right place in the Maldives. Because of the glare of the water, the romantic atmosphere and the real island feeling, watching the sunset is a favorite activity when you are on holiday in the Maldives.

6. Stay at a luxury resort

If you have a wide budget, book a stay for a few nights at one of the luxury resorts. You are often one of the few on the island and as soon as you set foot on the island you feel an oasis of peace. In addition, you will be picked up by a seaplane by some resort islands and then fly to the island of your stay. This is an experience you will never forget because of the beautiful view.

The 'EU drone driving license' is also accepted outside the EU in most cases, so it is advisable to have it with you at all times when you take your drone into the air, anywhere in the world.

  • Hello!

What a cool journey you have made!
I am also going to the Maldives in September and would really like to swim with wild dolphins. Through which organization did you do this? Could I have its contact details?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Regards, Jisse
