On Thursday, April 20, 2023, I (Chris) was allowed to attend the Golden Pen Media Awards 
receive a nice prize in Croatia. I won the prize for a blog about Advent Zagreb, which I finished at the end of last year Wereldreizigers.nl wrote.
About The Golden Pen Media Awards
The Golden Pen Media Awards is an international event. The event has been organized by it for 19 years Croatian National Tourist Board and this year (2023) out of 32 winning journalists, photographers, bloggers, influencers and Radio and TV presenters from 16 different countries, 5 'Grand Prix' winners were chosen in 5 different categories.
The gala event
The gala where the Golden Pen Media Awards were presented this year was held in a beautiful location with a view in Sibenik. Many high-ranking people were present, including the Minister of Tourism and Sports and the Mayor of Sibenik. All representatives of the Croatian National Tourist Board were also present. As we have come to expect from the Croatian Tourism Board, everything was taken care of down to the last detail.
Winner bloggers & influencers
After a few speeches by ministers and beautiful live jazz music during sunset, I received the 'Grand Prix' in the travel bloggers & influencers category. Other nominees in this category came from Hungary, Poland and Belgium, among others.

The 5 'Grand Prix' winners of the awards in 2023 came from the following countries (from left to right in the photo below): France, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and China.
Appreciation for travel bloggers
It feels really good to win an international award for my work as a travel blogger – a job that many still see as 'being on holiday a lot'. People often don't realize how much work is involved. The planning, organization, photography, writing, social media, SEO and of course the technical building and maintenance of the website, whatever lies behind it. The award therefore feels like a huge appreciation for our work and will of course be given a nice place in our office
