I was really sold immediately, I absolutely wanted to test those headphones before my long-axis flight back to the Netherlands.
After three weeks of intensive use, I can confirm that the headphones have exceeded all my expectations. The sound is sublime, the noise canceling works incredibly well (it really filters out everything!) and the wearing comfort is better than anything I've ever experienced. Listen for ten hours? No problem… the Sony WH-1000xm5 weighs only 249 grams and the battery lasts for 30 hours. You hardly feel that you have it on and after two full days of listening I honestly wondered when the battery would run out…
The only drawback I could discover about these headphones is that, unlike its predecessor, they are no longer foldable. I experienced a little bit of trouble with this when packing my hand luggage, but I immediately forgot about that annoyance when I switched on the headphones on the plane. It's really unbelievable how well the Sony WH-1000xm5 completely filters out the constant noise of the plane plus all the talking people and screaming kids around you. You have to experience it to believe it!

4. SanDisk Extreme (PRO) portable SSD
You are on vacation or on the road during your world trip and whoops, your phone or camera memory is full. What now? Until recently, you could plan an evening off to free up your memory… Making backups on various SD cards, unwieldy and slow external hard drives or uploading everything to the cloud for hours and sometimes even days (on poor hotel WiFi…) .
