Bali will delete quarantine rules as of March 7 | Visa on arrival possible again

TRAVEL NEWS – Sunday, March 6, 2022: Bali will remove all quarantine rules for international travelers visiting the island from Monday 7 March. It is also possible for travelers from 27 countries to obtain a 'visa on arrival' from the same date. The Netherlands belongs to these countries.

Quarantine Policy Suspended

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster confirmed that Bali is dropping its quarantine policy for international travelers from March 7. This is a very welcome easing because since the reopening of Bali on February 16, 2022, travelers have been reluctant to travel to Bali.

The reason for the reluctance was because a three-day quarantine in a designated hotel had to be complied with and because a very expensive visa had to be obtained in advance. These strict rules put enormous pressure on the affordability of a trip to Bali. These rules have now expired.

For the Dutch, a trip to Bali as of March 7, 2022 will be the same in terms of rules as in 2019, before Covid-19 hit.

Countries with VISA-on-Arrival as of March 7

The government will also resume visa on arrival for visitors from 7 selected countries by March 23.

“We are resuming the VISA-on-Arrival policy for visitors from 23 countries,” added Governor I Wayan Koster.

International travelers from the following countries will be welcome again at Bali airport as of March 7, 2022 without a pre-arranged visa.

  • The United States

  • Australië
  • the UK

Unfortunately, travelers from Belgium are not yet on the list. It is currently unclear when this will be the case.

Safety rules for Bali as of March 7:

  • Show proof of vaccination or booster
  • Carry out a PCR test on arrival and wait for the results before entering the public areas
  • Visitors who test positive must undergo isolation at the designated quarantine hotel
  • Travel or health insurance should cover the risk of contracting Covid-19 during their travel time.
  • Travelers are required to perform another PCR test on the third day before entering the provinces outside Bali.

  • Recently you can also travel to Bali (Indonesia) with a recovery certificate, provided that it is no more than 30 days old. I just got Corona and decided to book a flight and leave. So my question now is: Do I have to quarantine when I arrive in Bali or can I continue my trip after a PCR test at the airport?

  • And what about if you want to travel from Malaysia to Bali, for example? Do you do a pcr test in Malaysia?

  • I'm having the exact same question. So if someone can clarify this that would be very nice (:

  • According to certain websites run from Bali, the first 3 nights/4 days require overnight stays to be booked at a CHSE certified hotel. That obligation is not mentioned on this website. Which information is the right one, I wonder?

  • Should children in Bali also be able to show a pcr test on arrival? (5 and 7 years).

  • How do they view the vaccinations? I got a modern injection 1x (already had covid so fully vaccinated according to the NL rules) and got a booster shot afterwards. Am I definitely coming into the country with this? And do you have to do your own PCR test for that?

    Thank you

  • Is this a joke? There is always news but it is never true….
