TRAVEL NEWS (press release) September 15, 2022: The 'Oman' program for the 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM has been announced! At the press conference in Muscat, the Sultanate Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage & Tourism (Moht) all details known regarding the festivities in Oman and benefits for World Cup fans, to travel via Muscat.
The Oman Program
Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, secretary of the MoHT and head of management of the 'Oman' program, confirmed that the Sultanate will support the state of Qatar, which hosts the FIFA World Cup, in several areas. The program is mainly focused on promoting Muscat, the capital of Oman, as a city where World Cup fans and football fans will receive a warm welcome. They also get easy access to the Sultanate via Muscat. For example, there is a World Cup fan visa for holders of a Hayya Card, there are daily flights from Muscat to Doha, fine transport facilities, fun events and hotel offers in and around Muscat.

Hayya Digital Card
Holders of the Hayya Digital Card, which football fans must apply to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup QatarTM, will receive a free visa to Oman, which is valid for multiple entries. This visa is valid for up to 60 days. First-degree relatives may also accompany the Hayya Digital Card holder while traveling through the Sultanate.
In addition, 120 worldwide booking points of Oman Air, the national airline, offer special fares for ticket packages (with accommodation). Fans wishing to book a day trip to Oman can book discounted tickets from OMR 99 (approximately EUR 255) for economy class and from OMR 305 (approximately EUR 785) for business class during the World Cup period from November 20 to December 3, 2022 .
During the World Cup period, 20.000 hotel rooms, 200 tourism products from 35 tour operators and 10 transport companies will be offered in the program. They have entered into a partnership with 52 airlines flying to Oman. The program includes the World Cup Fans Festival. This festival is held in the gardens of the more than 9.000 square meter Oman Convention & Exhibition Center.
Qatar Support
Khaled Al Mawlawi, Deputy Director General for Marketing, Communications & Event Experience at Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, stressed at the press conference that the Sultanate's program to support the state of Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup will has exceeded expectations.
The program is implemented by a team led by the MHT and comprising various government and private institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Royal Police, Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), Oman Air and Oman Airports.
