NEWS: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has identified key elements of the IATA Travel Passes revealed. The IATA Travel Pass is a mobile app that is compatible with the ePassport and the new digital standards of the WHO, including Covid-19 tests and vaccination information. The mobile app makes international travel safer, but also a lot easier.

“Testing is the immediate solution to reopen secure borders and reconnect people. And eventually this will probably pass to vaccination requirements.
“In either case, a secure system for managing Covid-19 testing or vaccination information is critical.
IATA Travel Passes
"De IATA Travel Passes is a solution that both travelers and governments can rely on. And it is being built with data security, convenience and authentication as top priorities,” said Alexandre de Juniac, CEO of IATA.
IATA stressed that critical design elements would put travelers in control of their personal information for the highest level of data security and privacy.
De IATA Travel Passes stores encrypted data including verified test or vaccination results on the traveler's mobile device.

Global standards recognized by governments are also used to ensure verified identity and test or vaccine information.
ePassport
A government-issued ePassport is used to verify the user's identity.
It also serves to adigital display of the passport of the user so that the information can be sent electronically in a secure manner linked to their verified identity.
Currently, the main vaccination requirement for entry into some countries is the yellow fever.
According to international health regulations, this is managed by the “yellow card” or International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis.
WHO is working on new global standard
The World Health Organization (WHO) is developing digital standards which will make it vastly more secure and drastically reduce fraud. When the IATA Travel Pass is ready, it can receive such new global standards meet.
Until a Covid-19 vaccine is widely available to the general public, Covid-19 testing will be a priority. Laboratories have established safety standards for managing and verifying test results for individuals. IATA works with selected and established labs to test results connect securely to the verified identity of the IATA Travel Pass holder.
