Excursions without power supply
In addition to regular, long-term flight, bus and boat trips, there are also excursions with very limited or even without power supply. Those great off-the-grid tours where you will have no power for 3 to 5 days on a boat or deep in the jungle. Arriving at a dream place and not being able to capture it on image due to a lack of battery capacity, arg! That is a real hell for many.

Also completely 'off the grid' you should be able to last a few days without electricity. It's not that you have to be on your cell phone all day while traveling, quite the contrary. But who really has a dead battery on the way is very limited and will not be able to do anything in an emergency.
A suitable power bank
Anyone who goes on a trip nowadays most likely first looks for a suitable one Powerbank† Before you buy one, think about what you might need to be able to charge with it. Is only a limited backup battery for your phone enough? Or do you also want to be able to charge your laptop with it? In that case, you could consider a larger power bank (with more mAh). The number of mAh is the battery capacity† A new Smartphone nowadays needs about 4000 mAh for a full charge. Power banks are available from 1000 to 20.000 mAh, so in theory you should be able to charge your phone 5x with the most beautiful power bank.
Suitable for backpackers and travelers
Then of course there is the mobility, build quality and weight. Ideally, your power bank can take a beating and it is not too heavy. In your backpack or daypack, every gram is one too many, so the lighter and more compact the device, the nicer it is to travel with. Some power banks also have an IP67 or IP68 waterproof rating, just like modern smartphones. All things to keep in mind if you are going to buy a power bank for travel.
