Republic of Congo, also called Congo-Brazzaville or Congo, is a country in Central Africa, bordering Gabon, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo-Kinshasa and the Cabinda exclave of Angola. It is a former French colony.

Brazzaville is the capital of the Republic of Congo and is located on the right bank of the Congo River, directly opposite Kinshasa on the left bank, the capital of the neighboring country Congo-Kinshasa. The municipality and the department of Brazzaville have coincided since 2003.

Congo-Brazzaville is known for a number of tribes that still live according to ancient traditions. Furthermore, Congo-Brazzaville is known for its rich flora and fauna. You will find savannah, swamps, mountains and tropical rainforests. Some special animals that occur in the wild in Congo-Brazzaville are: elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, giraffes, hyenas, rhinos and gorillas. Oil and diamonds are also extracted in Congo-Brazzaville, which contributes to the country's economy.
