Tanzania
Tanzania is located in East Africa, bordering the Indian Ocean on the eastern side. Inland Tanzania borders on Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Malawi. The capital is Dodoma, but perhaps even more famous is the largest city in the country, Dar es Salaam. The most famous part of Tanzania is probably the small paradise of Zanzibar with its white beaches. It is known that people have been walking around in Tanzania as early as two million years ago. Today, about 45 million inhabitants walk around every day in this remarkably quiet African country with its Arab influences. Throughout history, Arabs loved to come to this country to build a new life.
safari tours
Tanzania is a gift of nature. Fortunately, the game reserves and nature parks are easily accessible. The best way to enter parks like Serengeti, Selous, Ruaha and Tarangire is with a safari tour. Safari means 'journey' in Swahili.
Of course, Kilimanjaro is also a great challenge for the seasoned traveler. It takes some blood, sweat and tears, but when you finally reach the top of this highest mountain in Tanzania (and even in all of Africa) of no less than 5895 meters high, you will see the adventurous Africa at your feet. Lake Manyara and the crater of the Ngorongoro are other fun packages from Mother Nature.
Paradise at sea
Did you know that the country of Tanzania also includes islands? The island of Zanzibar was once the residence of the Sultan of Oman and is now a beautiful spot in the middle of the Indian Ocean. You can dive very well here, chill in a hammock or just stroll around through the back streets of the inner city of Stone Town. The islands of Mafia and Pemba are also worth a visit.
