History Mercedes 1017
- The 1017 served with the police in Baden Baden until 2003. In 2007 I bought the car from Merex with a mileage of 66.000 km.
- The car was then converted into an expedition truck within 3 years.
It is ideal as a family vehicle as well as for 2 people because a bed for 3 people can also be built in the steering cabin. Items are present in the camper. - The Mercedes 1017 4 x4 is the perfect vehicle for a world trip. It is very reliable, robust and, unlike other engines, spare parts are still available worldwide for the 352 Mercedes block.
- It allows you to go to places where others cannot. This camper has proven itself throughout Africa and South and Central America.
- Camping on soft sandy beaches at temperatures of 45 degrees or at an altitude of 5000 meters in temperatures of -20 degrees was no problem.
- We traveled for six months each time from 2010 to 2021 and shipped the camper back to the Netherlands from Mexico in 2021.
- Due to Covid, the border to the USA was closed and after two years we were tired of waiting. Upon returning to the Netherlands, the camper was technically completely restored and provided with a new MOT.
- It has not been used since and has only been driven around the village occasionally.
- When sold, the camper will of course be provided with a new MOT.
- The camper will turn 2025 years old in 40 and will therefore be tax-free from next year.
