Still one of the favorite holiday countries and has been for years. We are of course talking about Austria. The enormous mountains in particular continue to exert a great attraction on us. Add to that the fact that Austria has one of the most beautiful capitals you can imagine and you immediately understand why we flock to this Tyrolean country every year. In winter or nice and warm in summer, in Austria it is a party every season!
The Austrian Alps
Austria, a beautiful country with a rich history and surrounded by no fewer than eight countries, namely Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia. With Vienna as the proud capital and the Alps as the main attraction, Austria has plenty to offer. Two thirds of the country consists of the Alps. Everywhere you look, you see the snow-capped peaks. But the Montafon, the Lienz Dolomites in East Tyrol and the Wilder Kaiser also tower high above you. You can of course take beautiful hikes through the hilly landscape or simply relax in cities such as Sankt Pölten, Innsbruck, Bregenz, Graz or Salzburg. Every city has the characteristic Austrian atmosphere, you will soon be sitting on a terrace with a delicious Weizen beer in your hand.
Winter Sports in Austria
When it gets cold and bleak, it's time to grab your skis or snowboard and head out to the excellent slopes that you can find in virtually every corner. Think of Montafon, Hinterglemm, Samnaun, Brixental, Carinthia and the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. Austria is still known as one of the best winter sports countries in Europe.
