Do you want to extend the sunny summer feeling? Are you not ready for the colder days and wet autumn yet? #1 Seville in Southern Spain

Seville is one of our favorite cities in Andalusia, the region in the extreme south of Spain. The city has one of the largest historic inner cities in Europe, so you understand that you can wander endlessly between the sights and monuments in the many districts of the old city. If you want stay overnight in Seville we recommend that you choose the neighborhoods Centro, Santa Cruz of Arenal. You will then sleep wonderfully centrally between all the beautiful places in Seville.

What you should not miss in Seville is it Royal Palace from Seville. It is the city's most famous attraction and is one of the most impressive structures in all of Spain. The palace is built in the Mudajar architectural style, a mix of Moorish and European influences. The cathedral is right next to the palace. You can climb the bell tower for a beautiful view of the city.

Another beautiful view? Then go to the modern building Seville mushrooms. The unusual construction is the best-known example of modern architecture in the city. It is a gigantic wooden construction that spans an entire square. You can walk on top for a beautiful view of Seville, a must to do!

#2 A roadtrip by Montenegro

Looking for a surprising holiday to an original destination? Choose Montenegro in the Balkans! This beautiful country on the coast is sandwiched between Croatia in the north and Albania in the south. It is home to perhaps the most beautiful landscapes in Europe.

Because it is such a small country, you can easily visit all special destinations during a short holiday of one week. Due to its southern location, you are also in the right place for wonderfully warm weather in the autumn. In October/November we could count on temperatures above 20 °C and Sebastiaan even took a dip in the sea a few times.

In the fall we made a roadtrip through Montenegro and fell in love with this beautiful country, especially in autumn colours.

Which destinations should you not miss? Anyway go to the Bay of Kotor, which is also called the southernmost fjord in Europe. The best way to explore the bay is by a roadtrip to be made via the highway that runs along the entire bay. Make a stop in the historic town Kotor, after which the bay is named. It is the most famous landmark in the country and the old center takes you back in time.

follow you roadtrip by the Kotor Serpentine drive, a road with dozens of hairpin turns into the mountains. You then come in Lovcen National Park, where you put it Njegos Mausoleum can visit to learn more about Montenegro's national hero and have a beautiful view of the surroundings in autumn colors. Then add the beautiful coast of Montenegro to your itinerary with stops like Budva en Bar. #3 The Portuguese Algarve

Last year we fell in love with the in the colder months Algarve, because we enjoyed the wonderful temperatures there while it was cold and wet in the Netherlands. The Algarve is our favorite region in Portugal, located in the extreme south where it covers the entire coastline. In our self-built motorhome we explored all corners of this little piece of Europe, where we lost our hearts to the orange cliffs along the coast and the picturesque villages.

The Algarve is a fairly compact whole, so you can easily make several beaches, cities and walks from the same base during a holiday in the Algarve. A week is enough to explore the most beautiful places, although we spent a good month here to really explore all the beaches and towns.

Highlights that you don't want to miss are the impressive hikes in the Algarve. In the wadden region Ria Formosa nearby Faro you have to be for the short Ludo Trail, spotting pink lakes and flamingos along the way. The Trail of Headlands en Seven Hanging Valleys Trail both lead you past dramatic rock cliffs and beautiful views of golden beaches. You can find them near the cute coastal town Carvoeiro.

#4 City trip to Málaga

We have to admit that we never thought of Malaga as a fun city break destination. We saw this town in the south of Spain especially as an easy starting base for a holiday in Andalusia because of its airport. Until we fled the Dutch cold with our camper bus and spent months in Andalusia, including quite a few days in Malaga. The city turned out to be rich in culture, restaurants, terrace, beach and sights. A great place to escape the Dutch autumn!

The reasons why Malaga is such a nice city? the hip Soho full of specialty coffee bars, modern hotspots, its own brewery, a museum for modern art and the most beautiful Street Art.

Staying in Malaga you prefer to do in this hip part of the city. Most historical sights can be found in the Historical Center, where you can admire the imposing cathedral, the Roman theater and the Moorish castle Alcazaba visits. Malaga is also really a museum city and in the old center you can visit the special Picasso Museum, located in Malaga as the birthplace of this famous painter.
